Congleton & District Conservation Volunteers was formed in 1990 and is affiliated to BTCV (The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers).\u00a0\u00a0The group is one of many similar voluntary groups around the country where people who value their environment can take practical action to improve it.\u00a0\u00a0We work in and around the Congleton area, supporting\u00a0 various local organisations and individuals including Countryside Rangers, Cheshire Wildlife Trust and the National Trust to maintain and develop sites of natural importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Woodlands, mosses, lowland heaths and meadow land are some of the locations that we help to manage. Some of them rare, providing valuable habitats for flora, fauna and wildlife.\u00a0\u00a0We also help maintain and keep clear access so that the public can enjoy these areas of natural beauty.\u00a0\u00a0In addition to this we help keep alive traditional skills such as hedge laying and coppicing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
